Professor of Sociology and of Public Policy and Public Administration

Tool:

Blackboard

Benefits for Faculty:

  • Electronic reserve readings can be made available via Blackboard.
  • E-mail messages with attachments can be sent to the class (no need to compile your own email list with students' emails).
  • The gradebook is another useful tool in Blackboard.

Benefits for Students:

Required reading is on Blackboard so that it is accessible at any time.

Teaching Tips:

"Usually some of the required reading is on Blackboard and they have to get access to it....Usually at the beginning of the semester I urge [students] to print out all the electronic reserves that are available as opposed to doing it on a week-by-week basis."
