e-Portfolio Extended: GSEHD

The CITL has facilitated the implementation of e-Portfolios at GW. There are currently five departments using the Blackboard Content System to implement an e-Portfolio assessment program where students are encouraged to reflect upon their learning process and outcomes. They do so by using guided E-portfolios templates.

Each department has its own unique requirements for their students, and the CITL has helped build the guided e-Portfolio templates, as well as train and support the students utilizing the Blackboard Content System and e-Portfolios.

This semester, Spring 2007, the GSEHD's Infant and Early Childhood Special Education Master's program has implemented e-Portfolios. Based on the Portfolio Development Handbook, http://www.gwu.edu/~ole/handbooks/ECporthdbk.pdf, we created a guided template for the students in the program that draws from the Handbook and also allows easy review by the instructors.
