What information do you need?

The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning is your source of information on a wide variety of topics related to teaching and learning, including instructional design, instructional technology, and educational assessment.

From online templates and demonstrations to electronic journals and assessment tools, we hope you find what you need. You may also find it helpful to check out the Services section of this website.

Through the Resources section, you can find information on:

  • Blackboard @ GW. Learn about the Blackboard Course Management System at GW; Access How-to-Guides and FAQs; Log into the system.
  • Teaching Tools. We have guides for creating course material as well as valuable teaching tips from other faculty members on innovative teaching and learning techniques.
  • E-Learning. Refer your students to this site for study tips, strategies, and techniques to make them more effective learners.
  • E-Portfolio How-Tos. These are step-by-step movies to walk you through portfolio creation and uploading files to the Content System.
  • Assessment. Find resources that will help you track how and what your students are learning.
  • iTunes U. Information about how to sign your class up to use iTunes U and start creating podcasts.
  • CITL Library. We offer online subscriptions to education-related publications, book loans, and announcements about Coffee and Conversation sessions on campus through our teaching and learning library.
  • Instructional Technology Lab. Scan slides for PowerPoint presentation; digitize a recorded presentation; Borrow audiovisual equipment.  By appointment or during walk-in hours, GW faculty have free access to our lab, located in the basement of Gelman Library (Gelman B05a).
