How can we help you?
The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning offers a wide range of services to support and guide GW faculty as we strive continually to improve teaching and learning.
These services are offered free of charge to all GW faculty, online, by phone, or in person at our townhouse or instructional technology lab locations. If you think written documentation or self-help guides are what you need, please explore the Resources section of this website as well.
Our services include:
- Personal Consultations. We are here to help GW faculty one-on-one with designing or redesigning courses and supporting material. We can also help think through new ways to teach and engage students, whether in the classroom or learning at a distance.
- Grants. Curriculum Development Grants are available for innovative projects in teaching and learning.
- Instructional Technology Support. We support faculty efforts to effectively incorporate technology into university courses through workshops, individual help in our instructional technology lab, and special programs.
- Workshops and Events. A wide-range of workshops, events, and meetings for training and collaboration are available free of charge to GW faculty members and Graduate Teaching Assistants.
- Summer Distance Learning Initiative. GW faculty teaching Summer Distance courses can request a consultation on developing and revising their online courses.
- E-Portfolios Program. Digital portfolios are becoming an increasingly popular part of courses and programs, and we are here to help with e-portfolio design and production.
- E-Community of Practice So that GW faculty can communicate with colleagues and share ideas, CITL facilitates a proprietary virtual community all faculty can access.
- SAS Distribution. SAS statistical software is provided for all students in designated classes.
- Equipment Loan for Faculty. GW faculty can borrow multimedia equipment for creating course-related materials.
